About the event
Learning Objectives:
1. Mitigate the impacts of devices. Digital devices are negatively impacting our posture, breathing, circulation, and the development of our social engagement and learning systems. Self-Regulation for Early Learners counterbalances these unhealthy habits for sitting, moving, breathing, and standing.
2. Take Care of the spine and brain. The brain is part of the nervous system and connected to the spine. Lengthening and mobilizing the spine supports neurodevelopment. Caring for the top of the spine supports circulation and oxygen flow to our brilliant brains.
3. Activate full body breathing. Activating the amazing support system for your breath empowers your physical and mental health. Our posture, ribs, diaphragm, jaw, neck, muscles, support our lungs and breath. Our brains, organs, and cells love oxygen.
4. Relax the body. When our bodies relax and find more ease, our brain knows it is a good time to rest, digest our food, restore our health, soothe our nerves, or connect with the world around us. Discovering our relaxation reflexes helps with stress relief and sleep.
The curriculum develops skills in three sections: Alert and Ready to Learn, Calm and Relaxed, Active and Restorative Movement
